The Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB), with the students of Professor Shamsul Wares, came together to celebrate and pay tribute to the extraordinary architect, distinguished scholar, respected mentor, and an enduring inspiration to generations on the occasion of his 80th birthday. The celebration was held at the IAB premises on 23 January.
To mark eight decades of this living legend, a travelling exhibition showcasing his architectural works was inaugurated at the IAB Centre on the same day. The exhibition features drawings and models of both his built and unbuilt projects and will remain open to the public from 23–26 January 2026, between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm, at the IAB Centre, Agargaon, Dhaka.
