The manufacturing unit grossing around 1, 51,320 sq. ft. in area is one of the first human vaccine manufacturing plants of IPL. It consists of a state-of-the-art lab that is entirely compliant with the WHO GMP requirements. The vaccine manufacturing facility has the capacity to manufacture 180 million single dose vials and ampoules per year supported by cold rooms to store critical materials. The lab accommodates large pool of researchers and scientists engaged in different disciplines like research and development, quality control, quality assurance, production and other functions. It consists of a world class large lab animal house where vaccines are directly tested in animal to measure the potency, safety and immunogenicity. The antigen bulk facility comprises of modern production fermenters with 500L to 1500 L capacity.
